Post mid-year update
I suppose you could say a fair ammount has happened since my last post, after starting off as a Language specialist contracting for X, I applied for another internal position. A more challenging one and one that that I enjoy far more. As much 'fun' as it was being a language specialist, all I got to do was edit internal policy guides.
The new jobs requirements looked pretty much the same as the last one, add to that a knowledge of DreamWeaver (a web based programming tool). The language I was now comfortable with, but Dream Weaver? Never used it, didn’t know the first thing about it.
I applied anyways, thinking I could learn it pretty quickly. Good thing I did, cause I got the job, learned the software, and am now the happy editor of an in-house weekly publication. :)
Sure, its not the BBC or Daily Mail, but I like to call it 'corporate journalism' and I enjoy what I do. So I've been doing this since March now, and don't mind too much that I have to wake up at 6 five days a week.
At one stage, while studying and working as the language specialist, I took on some part time work as a barman at a friends club. Lots of fun, but not something you can do for long unless you're aiming for a burnout.
The bar job lasted a few months and once I had graduated, stopped the bar work too and decided to focus on my career. Since it seems to be under control for now, I may consider taking up another part time job.
Other than work I pretty much just hang out at the friends club, wouldn’t you if you got to drink for free?
That’s about as much of an update as I'm capable of right now, I still watch movies (alot), and recently joined the gym. if I can think of anything else worth reporting I'll be back soon.
Will try and post a pic or two so you can see nothings changed :)
